Droop (2024)
Droop is a lighting design concept that is inspired by my childhood experiences of viewing the interior of my family home and its furnishings upside down. This new perspective of seeing led to the idea of inverting light fixtures, transforming the ceiling rose into the standing base of the light. The arms of the chandelier subsequently droop downwards towards the floor instead of rising toward the ceiling.
Each antique chandelier is restored, brass plated, with a painted steel stem and a Jesmonite ceiling rose as the base. These unique fixtures can function as table or floor-standing lights.
