Shadey Family (2024)

Shadey Family is a tiered chandelier composed of 62 vintage glass lamp shades, each suspended from slender brass rods. Sourced from different eras, the shades vary in pattern, color, and form, reflecting distinct design languages and cultural moments.

Together, they form a “family” of objects—each shade carrying its own history, personality, and visual voice. Though diverse, they are united within a single structure, where contrast becomes harmony. The work explores ideas of lineage, coexistence, and the quiet narratives embedded in domestic objects. By recontextualizing these once-functional forms, the chandelier transforms into a luminous archive of generations brought into dialogue with one another.
