Tide (Black) 2025

The final work in the Tide triptych is composed of hundreds of black plastic objects—packaging, toy parts, combs, automotive fragments—collected from UK beaches. Together they form a perfect sphere, symbolising the moon, whose pull governs the tides that wash this debris ashore.

Each object is coated in black paint, unifying their surfaces into a single archive of plastic manufacturing. A warm globe light bulb illuminates the sphere, throwing intricate shadows across the surroundings. Under this light, the objects appear to float—suspended in time and space.
